Having worked in advertising for so many years I gained that “business mind” which is the key to understand my Client’s industry and see which opportunities the Internet can offer them.
Most of the problems arising from a new project are due to communication. This does not mean a lack of it. Often the number of reports and emails is so high that generates confusion and misunderstanding more that anything else. The real problem is the code. A Web Developer does not always understand business and a Sales or Marketing Manager might not understand programming. They need a translator, an interface. This is where I normally stand, firstly taking a brief and translating it for a more technical audience, than following the project, coordinating all the different tasks, making sure that everything is done according to best practices, deadlines and budget.
